Memit Privacy Policy

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the App's functionality. The categories of data we collect include:

Account & Identity Information

• Email Address — collected at registration via Firebase Authentication (Email/Password).
• User ID — a unique identifier automatically generated by Firebase Authentication to distinguish your account.

User-Generated Content

• Content you create, input, or upload within the App is stored in Cloud Firestore and/or Firebase Realtime Database.

Device & Technical Information

• Device model and OS version — collected automatically to ensure compatibility and diagnose issues.
• Push Notification Token — a device token generated by Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) used solely to deliver notifications to your device.

Analytics & Diagnostics

• App usage analytics — collected via Firebase Analytics (e.g., screen views, feature interactions) to understand how users engage with the App.
• Crash reports — collected automatically via Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix technical issues.

Permissions and Media Access

• Camera Access — the App requires access to your device's camera to allow you to take photos and record videos for meme creation.
• Media & Gallery Access — the App requires access to your photo library/gallery to allow you to select existing images and videos to use in your memes, and to save your finished creations to your device.
• Microphone Access — requested concurrently with the camera for the purpose of recording audio during video capture.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Account Management: To create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
• App Functionality: To store and retrieve your user-generated content across sessions and devices.
• Push Notifications: To send you relevant in-app notifications and updates via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Crash Detection & Stability: To identify, diagnose, and resolve technical errors using Firebase Crashlytics.
• Product Improvement: To understand usage patterns and improve features using aggregated, anonymised analytics from Firebase Analytics.
• Security & Fraud Prevention: To detect and prevent unauthorised access, abuse, or security threats.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making, profiling, or advertising targeting.

We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers — Firebase (Google LLC)

Google Firebase acts as our primary data processor and service provider. The Firebase services we use — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging — process data on our behalf under Google's data processing agreements. Firebase is bound by strict data protection terms and cannot use your data for its own purposes beyond what we have authorised.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights, prevent fraud, or ensure the safety of our users.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via in-app notice or email before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it.

• Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the App and Firebase servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security). Your data is never sent over unencrypted channels.
• Encryption at Rest: Firebase encrypts data stored on its servers at rest by default.
• Access Controls: Firebase Security Rules restrict access to your data so that only authenticated, authorised users can read or write their own information.
• Authentication: Account access is secured through Firebase Authentication with email/password credentials.

While we implement industry-standard security practices, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password to protect your account.

You have meaningful control over your personal data. Your rights include:

Account Deletion Instructions

To permanently delete your account and all associated data:

• Open the App and navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
• Confirm the deletion when prompted. This action will permanently remove your account, authentication credentials, and all user-generated content stored in our databases.
• Alternatively, contact us at memit.isn2026@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and we will process the request within 30 days.

Our App is not directed to, designed for, or intended for use by children under the age of 13 years old (or the applicable minimum digital age of consent in your jurisdiction).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at memit.isn2026@gmail.com. We will promptly investigate and delete any such data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
• Notify you via a prominent in-app notice or a push notification before the changes take effect.
• For significant changes, we may request your renewed consent where required by applicable law.
